Tell us about your first houseplant.

Taylor: My first houseplant is a Sansevieria that Amber gave me as a housewarming gift over 6 years ago. It’s still alive and kicking.

Which plant is your favorite plant in your collection and why?

Amber: Lately it’s been Brienne of Tarth, our giant Sansevieria Metallica. She’s steadfast, magnificent, and doesn’t ask for much in return.

Taylor: A Euphorbia named Ed Tom Bell. This was my first Stump plant and reminds me of No Country For Old Men.

Which planter is your favorite planter in your collection and why?

Amber: A white speckle planter with black abstract designs by D Frunzi Ceramics. I collect his work.

Favorite plant memory?

Amber: Opening STUMP Philly and forging a lifelong friendship with Emily and Brian and my sweetest, laziest Ray.

What does your plant care routine look like?

Taylor: I water our entire collection on the 1st of the month, succulents on the 1st & 15th, and anything extra thirsty, I water weekly.

Any advice for new plant owners?

Amber: Remember who’s the boss!

Taylor: Get a cactus.

Why should everyone have a houseplant?

Amber: They spark joy and are a wonderful way to practice responsibility while still being able to opt out at any time.

What has having plants taught you?

Taylor: Patience & grit.
